On behalf of Tau Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® thank you for visiting our website! As President, I am proud to share our chapter’s history, sisterhood, and continued impact at Indiana University Bloomington and throughout the Bloomington community.

Since our chartering in 1922, Tau Chapter has remained committed to academic excellence, meaningful service, and carrying forward the legacy of the women who came before us. Founded in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was the first Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women. Today, we continue to uphold our mission of Service to All Mankind.

Guided by the theme, “Championing Service, Empowering Sisterhood, and Transforming the World,” our organization continues to serve communities through eight program initiatives: Educational Support and Advocacy, AKA Family Matters, Health Awareness and Wellbeing, Economic Growth and Success, Environmental and Sustainability Action, Arts Advocacy and Cultural Awareness, The Global Community, and the Undergraduate Impact Program. Through these initiatives, we strive to create meaningful opportunities for service, growth, and lasting change.

As we begin the 2026–2027 academic year, Tau Chapter looks forward to building on our legacy through purposeful programming, community engagement, and opportunities for our members to grow. I am honored to serve alongside such dedicated women as we strengthen our sisterhood and continue making a positive impact.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about Tau Chapter. We invite you to explore our history, follow us on social media, and stay connected with our upcoming events and service opportunities. We look forward to another meaningful year of sisterhood, service, and impact!

Yours in Sisterhood and Service,
